Strangely though, I think if Van Dorn had told this story over 200 pages I would have liked it much more! I dont think the Psuedoincest would have ever worked but I would have atleast understood the characters a bit more especially the older MC. I just didnt like how younger MC never caught a break from older MC. He's almost totally irresponsible with the younger MC emotionally and he never yields on anything except when he does and then he overcomes everything immediately. And the backstory itself was just.Older MC admits that he didnt blame Younger MC for what happened to him, but punishes him for it. I think that you cant develop a taboo love that efficiently in so small a space if at all. My issue is that the Psuedoincest didnt work. For the quality of editing and prose alone - 5 stars. Lynn Van Dorn is a writer who manages to write novels both salaciously and well which is quite a skill. On a writing level, Its a very good use of a very small amount of space.
